Since 1919, the Broome County Historical Society has been collecting, preserving and interpreting the history of Broome County, New York

PROGRAMS
The Historical Society holds nine regular programs each year, all free and open to the public.

PUBLICATIONS
Two issues of a newsletter, the Broome County History Bulletin, are published each year. Several major publications have been produced and are available for purchase.

COLLECTIONS
The Society maintains a collection of over 200,000 items covering our area from pre-history to the present. All items in the collection are preserved consistent with current museum and archival standards.

BROOME COUNTY HISTORY CENTER
The BCHS collections of artifacts, research materials, family files, and the office of the Broome County Historian, are located in the Broome County History Center on the 2nd floor of the Broome County Public Library, 185 Court Street, Binghamton.

RESEARCH
We provide a research service using only materials located in the Local History & Genealogy Center.
The cost for research is $10.00/hour, plus the cost of copies (.25).
All monies must be paid before the research can be started.
